The Good Day

After a busy night shift last night at work, I had somewhat of a busy morning. I had to run a few errands that kept me from heading straight home and crashing in bed like I usually do after night shifts. But after that, I slept all. day. long. It felt so good. I woke up when Bruce got home from work and we laid in bed, he on his computer making a Powerpoint for work, and I on his iPad watching Say Yes To The Dress, and we just relaxed.

Bruce made us yummy dinner of my favorite potatoes (by request), sugar snap peas, red peppers, and hot dogs all stir fried together (he's a good cook and boyfriend, I'm lucky). I'm getting hungry even writing about it. After that, we washed his car at one of those manual car washes that makes me think of my childhood and going to those with my dad. We took a long drive after that. The windows were down and the air was pretty sticky, but cool, and the sky was the prettiest pink, orange, yellow, and blue. There was an orange glow over everything for a while. Bruce was playing his favorite CD, and we were stopping when I saw a good photo opportunity. That drive made today one of the days this summer that I'm going to remember because it just felt like summer. That's the thing about summer, you get through the busy days to remember and cherish the relaxing ones.
